Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Common Sense 10/14/94

Thats right, i said Common Sense. Thats how I remember him by. Common was an emcee that was embraced by everyone on the east coast. From Big to Jay to Nas to whomever. He was cool with everyone, and still is. Around this time he was i think promoting his "Ressurection" LP, by which we all know is a classic. The 1st time i heard of Common was on an episode of old school wednesday on Rap City back in '96, when they showed "I Used to Love HER" vid. I was hypnotized by it. Now the 1st album i bought of his was "One Day It Will All Make Sense" back in mid '98. I was hooked on this album for a minute. To me its a classic! I didnt buy his Ressurection LP until 1999. By that time i was sold on him. And he hasnt let me down music wise yet. He is what u call a true emcee!

Best Of The Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show Vol.1

The title is pretty much explanatory. I forgot the year for this one. But you cant go wrong with this anyway you look at it. Enjoy, Your welcome, your all welcome!!

Stretch Armstrong XL Radio on Hot 97- Shyne & Black Rob 9/24/00

Now at this time, hip-hop was still hot but started to decline drastically after this year. But 2000 was a great year in hip-hop 2 me. And these 2 emcees is partially responsible for that. Shyne came thru in promoting his LP that about to drop. "Bad Boyz" at this time had every rotation on lock! I still bang this song like its brand new. I remember being NJ in early '00 with my boys, and its late night and we ridin around listenin to Hot 97. Funk Flex then played 2 new songs so people can get preview about these artists new tracks. The 1st song he played was Ja Rule's "Between Me & You", then the 2nd song was Shyne's "Bad Boyz". Now this was about 2-3 months before these songs even came out. When we 1st heard "Bad Boyz" we was bangin our headz hard. That was a ill time. So back to this show, then Black Rob comes thru is support of Shyne. Remember his joint "Whoa" was the jam just a couple of months earlier. So this a very great show, cause they both also kicked some ill freestyles!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Royal Flush & Bush Babees 1996

This was another great all-around show. 1st Royal Flush comes through promoting his 1st LP that was about to drop. And by the way if u dont have that, please check it out!! At this time "Worldwide" is doin its thing, a definite hip-hop classic. "Iced Down Medallions" is not even released as single yet, so he was gettin ready to blow! 2nd Bush Babees comes thru promoting their "Gravity" album. Which wasnt that bad by my evaluation. They also kick some freestyles as did Royal Flush. Plus Stretch is playin some hot '96 bangers that was hittin at that time!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Freestyle Frenzy Pt.1

This right here is complilation of classic freestyles that was done on the show from '94 on down. There is joints on here that is just mind blowin. Its just astonishing to see that emcees back then was just pure rhymers. Its a far comparison to how it is now. I cant figure out for the life of me on how hip-hop has deteriorated. I dont know how it gotten here, with so much promise in the past. Oh well, its always good to reflect on the good times!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Company Flow 1997

Now here's a group who literally came out of nowhere. Matter of fact I didnt know nothing about this group until a couple of years ago when i heard "8 Steps of Perfection" for the 1st time. I was like damn, this track goes in hard! I was totally hooked. Then I heard "Vital Nerve", and that joint is a banger as well. So i decided to cop their album "Funcrusher Plus", the results wasnt what i expected, but thats another story. On this show, they was clownin around alot, but then they kicked some real nice freestyles. So all in all this was very nice show!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show on Hot 97- DJ Premier 3/24/97

This right here is one of my fav. shows i think that they have done. DJ Premier put it down on this night. He was playin tracks on here that i didnt even know existed in '97. We all know Primo loves to play underground joints that never do get the light of day. So he made sure people heard these joints that were out there! Even the instrumental that Primo & Bobbito was talkin over in the middle part of the show was incredible! I never that beat before, and when i 1st heard it was blown away. I must played that little interview like 10x just to hear the beat that they was talkin over. Im tellin u people, this is the essence of '97 right here on this show. And who does it better than Premier to bring it to u!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Artifacts 1/17/97

This group is one of my all-time favorites. Even though i didnt get a chance to know them until a couple of years ago. I did my research on them. I always liked "Wrong Side of the Tracks", and that "Cmon With The Get Down" Remix that Buckwild did with Busta on it is a certified classic! These two brothers in this group can just rhyme! They love to rhme! My man is Tame-One, this man seems like he got rhymes for days. He style is just free-flow of rhymes. Just Ill. On this show their style is on full display, kickin crazy rhymes and i think they are promoting their 2nd LP. Which is a tight album by the way if u dont already know! Just listen to the crazy skillz the brothaz have!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Mobb Deep 7/7/94

Ready for war in '94. The infamous Mobb came thru the show, promoting their classic LP. Remember now Shook Ones pt.1 is already makin noise. And Pt.2 is gettin ready to pop off. So it was about to go down for Mobb Deep. Plus Hav & P is kickin ill freestyle rhymes on this show. It seemed like back then, Prodigy was kickin hip-hop quotetibles every time he spit a verse. I wonder what happened? Its a mystery. Sit back and listen to history being made!

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Nas & Big L 10/28/93

This legendary right here! Esco and L on the same show on the same night!!? Thats just incredible! Big L was in da house promoting his 1st LP which was about to drop, he also kicked some freestyles! Then Nas came thru, kickin some ill freestyles and promoting Illmatic which was about to drop. And remember this is late '93, the golden era is set in motion to begin. Its just lovely to look back and listen to it unfold!!

http://rapidshare.com/files/140684403/10.28.93.rar.html

Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show- Alkaholiks 7/24/97

I didnt really pay any attention to the 'Liks when they came out. I never really knew anything about them. Until i done some research on them, I heard "The Next Level" ft. Diamond D & "Hip Hop Junkies" ft. ODB. Then I was like, u know what these guys are not that bad. And J-Swift is a ill producer who has done some classics. On this show they kicked some ill rhymes as well. But yall see the year this show was taped, thats right '97! And yall know how I feel about '97. Its all good!

Its Time 4 The Stretch & Bob Show

Like I told you before, im about to flood yall with some Stretch & Bobbito. I have many of their shows, which to me if u think about it are 4 hr long mixtapes with live interviews. They played some music on here that wasnt gettin played anywhere else. They put alot of emcees on the map. They opened the doors for alot of people on here. There will never b another show this again, so please take advantage of what im postin and cherish them cause this is hip-hop history right here!!

DJ Whoo Kid- 50 Cent: God's Plan

Well this is the last of the 3 tapes that to me put 50 cent on the map. When this was released in late 2002, 50 was already on the verge of being that dude. He was on remixes and Wanksta was just about to pop off. So he is becoming a star. And for Whoo Kid, he would go on to release many, many mixtapes featuring 50 & G-Unit. But the 2 tapes i posted including this one, set him up for many business opportunities in the future. After this mixtape came out, it was on and poppin for 50 & G-Unit. I know WhooKid gotta say to himself, man am i glad i hooked up with this dude in the beginning!

Mick Boogie & Kanye West- Second Semester: Kanye Essentials 2

I guess for u new school heads, u will know who Mick Boogie is, i have no clue. But he and Kanye did put together a nice tape here. This came out in '06, this was the last new mixtape i bought. The only reason i bought this was Kanye. Neither than that, this was the last new mixtape i got before i made the transition to just focus on old school classic tapes. We all know Kanye is a workaholic, so u know he got mad joints just lyin around that most people will never get a chance to listen to. So this was released right after his 2nd album dropped. He was just contiuing on the hype surrounding his album droppin. It was a great idea, cause there are some bangin joints on here, plus he gives us alot of tracks. And that is never too bad. School is now in session! Please take notes!

DJ Dub- Nas & Premier: NY State Of Mind

This mixtape was almost like finding a diamond in the ruff. This came out in '06, around this time i was done with mixtapes. So when i read about this tape in the Scratch magazine, it sparked my interest. I was like, blending DJ Premier most famous beats with some of Nas' famous vocals!!? Hmmm...! So when i got the tape and gave it listen, i was completely dumfounded. Cause the way he did it was dope. I mean he made match perfectly. You couldnt do it better than he did. So i would advise any true hip-hop fan to give this a listen. Im tellin you, it will be above ur expectations!

Tony Touch- Best Of Boot Camp Freestyles

Aye Tony, Tony!!!! Toca is back with this ill mixtape featuring some nice freestyles from one of my all-tive fav. groups: Boot Camp Clik! Tony put this together by taking some of they best freestyles that was done on other mixtapes including his own. Every single one of these tracks is goin off, there is no need to skip anything on this cd. Boot Camp Clik is one of those groups that can say each one of the members have classic records under their belt. Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah & OGC got classics. And u is dumb to think that they dont. U better recognize!

Children Of The Corn

Well its time for me to kick the truth to the young black youth. This group was one best of all-time that was rarely heard. I jumped quickly at the opportunity to get this tape, this came out in '05 or '06. This was when Mase was Murder and before the shiny suits (i had no problem with that though). Was when Camron was Killa and before the nursery rhymes and pink outfits (if u wore pink then u not hip-hop). And Big L in his younger days spittin some of the hottest rhymes known to man. Plus Cam's cousin Bloodshed and another promising emcee Mcgruff. Who did make some noise in '96 then went downhill from there. This mixtape features of the songs that they recorded together. This is straight classic hip-hop music right that everybody should know about. If u are a fan hip-hop, then u should know about Children of the Corn. If u dont know, now u know.

DJ Keyz & Tapemasters Inc.- Rap City Tha Bassment: Best Of The Booth Pt.2

Here's part 2 of this mixtape series. Now this features freestyles from the show from '99-'05. Ill rhymes and very well put together. I dont know what else to say. Just check it out!

DJ Keyz & Tapemasters Inc.- Rap City Tha Bassment: Best Of the Booth

This mixtape was a clever idea that was put together. I mean many of us wondered, hey, it would be cool to listen to some those freestyles they kicked on tv in our rides. I guess these 2 was listening. This features some classic Rap City freestyles from '99-'04. This is definetly a dope tape. Many of my friends wanted copies of this tape cause they love some of the freestyles that was kicked on Rap City. I wish though somebody can make a mixtape with the best of fresstyles from Rap City from '94-'98. Those were they years Chris Thomas, Joe Clair & Big Lez was hostin it. Joe Clair was kickin some rhymes that were better than most artists on the show. Now that will be somethin. But this tape here is nothin to laugh at, its all they way dope!

DJ Keys- Radio Freestyles Pt.1

I really dont know what year this came out, i wanna say 2002 but im not sure. But this tape features some the most classic freestyles ever kicked on radio. Heck, legendary even. These freestyles were taken from past shows from Funk Flex, Angie Martinez, Clue, Envy, Tim Westwood, Enuff, Cipha Sounds and Sway & Tech. This to me was a no brainer to get, cause its so legendary. But to me #11 is of the greatest cipha's of all time. You got Mase (who kicked the most greatest freestyle rhyme ever on this), Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek & P.Diddy (yes thats right, Diddy, he was gettin swerve on though on this). Biggie was also in this as well, but on this CD he was omitted!!? Hmmm? Anyway this freestyle took place in '96 for Angie Martinez's Birthday Bash on Hot 97. Please if u are a fan of hip-hop this is a requirement for u to listen to. I order u to listen to this. U are not hip-hop if u dont listen to this! And thats my word!

DJ KaySlay- The Best of The Drama Kings Freestyles

Dj Kayslay aka. slap your favorite dj is in da house. This tape came out in 2002. And this features some of best freestyles that has appeared on his tapes from previous years. He has alot on here. I didnt even get to know Kayslay until mid 2002. From then on, I had gotten many of his tapes, but I started to grow weary of him around 2005. I just wasnt feelin him anymore and I gave all of his tapes away I had to various friends, but I kept this one. Why? Dont know, probably cause this had a couple of rarieties on here. Like I remember on one of his tapes back in 2002 is when I heard that Jay-Z diss Nas freestyle for the 1st time. At that time that was huge! He was the 1st to have that on a tape. I was mad though that those 2 were beefin but thats another story. But Kayslay had that 1st, and thats a little part of hip-hop history. So it means somethin.

Big Mike & Supa Mario- Styles P: Ghost Stories

We gonna keep it on the Lox side of things, and focus on SP! This came out in '03, and it features some of the sickest freestyles Panero did for that year plus some Lox tracks that was on other mixtapes. This was the 1st mixtape SP came out with, cause now he got Ghost in the Shell, the Phantom, Ghost in the Machine and etc. This right here was the 1st. You know everybody already knew Jada was nice, but SP proved he can do his thing when "Holiday" came out. Then when "Good Times" came out, everybody then took notice that SP can hold his own as well. So with this mixtape he put all of his skillz on display over some classic beats. I was bangin this tape from front to back for a couple of times when i got it. "The reason why they call me the ghost, is cause when i walk by niggaz get up!"

Big Mike & Green Lantern- Jadakiss: The Champ Is Here

The champ is here! And when this tape was released in 2004, Jadakiss was going for that title. This was released right before his album "Kiss of Death" came out (please pick that album up if u dont have it.). In 2004, his single "Why" was one of the jamz of that year. But this tape was greatly put together! This tape tape also created a huge buzz when it came out, with features in the Source mag & XXL. Gotta give up to Green Lantern on some of the beats on here. If u dont think Green can produce? U better ask somebody! Chill out and let Montaga Jada get u open!

Kanye West- Kon The Louis Vuitton Don

Once more its Mr. West with another rare tape. This to my knowledge was released in early '04. Kanye album was on the verge of comin out, and he was giving us more of his work. This was a real nice tape, with joints on here i didnt even know he produced. Plus i remember when this came out, me and my boys wanted to get some Louis Vuitton stuff. Then we realized how much that stuff cost, so we just stuck with Polo. Kanye put life back into Polo when he came out, his whole dressin style was ill. But check this tape out, its all that plus a bag of chips.

Kanye West- Akademics Jeanius Level Musik Vol.2

Kanye is back again again with another dope tape. This was released in '03. Now around this time, Kanye was gaining a buzz cause his album was coming out. And it was highly anticipated, and we all know how that turned out. It was the album of 2004! But this tape just gives u a preview what he has instore plus some of the joints he produced for other artists. So if u are a fan of this man's work, you will be satisfied with this!!

J-Love- Ghostface Killah: Hidden Darts 2

J-Love is back again for the 2nd installment of Hidden Darts. This as well was released in 2003. If you thought the 1st was tight, this one doesnt dissapoint as well. Its definetly on point! Im tellin you man, Ghostafce is one the flyest niggas around and his rhyme style reflects his personality. So sit back and let Pretty Toney get u open!!

J-Love- Miss Mary J. Blige Pt.1

Its J-Love again and we stayin wit MJB. This was released in '03 i believe. Now on this tape, it features some rare remixes and other tracks that Mary did that didnt make the cut from some albums. And after hearing this tape, you will be questioning urself why they did not?!! Nothing but bangers on here. I dont know how J-Love was able to get most of these songs, but he represented on this. And if u love MJB, this tape is definetly for you!

Kanye West- Get Well Soon

This mixtape was the 1st time i actually heard Kanye spit some rhymes. This tape came out in late '02 right after he had gotten in that car accident. I think Rocafella put this together and released it to the public (i think). But i remember when i 1st got this tape i was in VA with 3 of my friends. I popped the CD in my boys ride and we was jammin our azz off. Then when that "Through The Wire" track came on, all of our mouths dropped! That was the 1st time any of us had heard that song!! Classic Time. Like i said this was in late '02, Kanye didnt make a video or released this as a single until late '03 early '04!!! We had the jump on this record almost 2 years earlier. When the song came out, i told people man i heard this record almost 2 years ago. So ya, it was that ill. I hope you all enjoy this one!

DJ Nobody- The Best Of Jadakiss

Dj Nobody is back, this time he giving you the best work of J A D A! This tape as well came out in late '02. And i got to give it up to him, cause this is another well put together tape! Very nice selections and some ill freestyles! Its hard to imagine Jada been around since '94! I remember seeing him 1st as a skinny young man on Mona Lisa's video back in '94, rockin a blue Barry Sanders jersey! I know many MC's wish they had a chance to learn under BIG like he did. That experience is unforgettable and undeniable! Jadakiss to me, deserves to be up there as one of the great MC's of our time! Thats just me.

DJ Vlad & Dirty Harry- Notorious BIG: Rap Phenomenon

Ok, i know nothing about DJ Vlad, but i do know Dirty Harry. He was putting out some classic tapes durng the 90's. I would go on record and say that he had more to contribute to this tape than DJ Vlad. This mixtape received alot of pub on TV and in hip-hop mags. This this tape came out in '05 i believe (i may be wrong). But this is a great tape, what all u want from Biggie is on this tape. Plus some rare, rare, rare freestyles! This mixtape is a must have for yall man, dont sleep on it! Frank White baby!

DJ Nobody- The Best Of Beanie Sigel

I dont know much about this DJ, but he sure put together a nice tape. I got this tape around late '02 when it came out. This tape features pretty much all of Beanie's best work, which pretty was '99-'03. Im tellin you, you will not dissapointed with this tape. I played it over and over when i got it. Plus it has some freestyles i never heard of before. So please enjoy the vintage sounds of Beanie Mack!

DMX- Unleashed & Unreleased

We know what predictament DMX is in now. He fell off big time in his personal life and music career. So thats that. But we all know how ill he was when was in the prime of his career! I remember the 1st time i heard him was on Mase's 1st album on that "Niggaz Wanna Talk", he was on the hook. I was like ok. Then when I finally seen what he looked like on LL's "4321" track, i was like this man is a beast. When "Get At Me Dog" 1st came out, that had to be one of the hardest tracks i ever heard. It was real and raw. It was crazy. This tape was released around '99-'00. It features some of his early work and some ill freestyles. Please check this out, when i was NJ in 2000 alot people had this tape. I never would though he woulda fell off like he has, i couldnt fathom it.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

DJ Roz- Big L: Harlem's Finest

Now i really dont know nothing about this DJ, all i saw was Big L and the tracklisting and decided to give it a chance. It worked out, there was some tracks on here that i never heard before. But the freestyles on here is legendary. So its all good in my book. I hope it is in yours as well!

J-Love- Ghostface Killah: Hidden Darts

Now we are keepin it on the shaolin side of things, but we move to Ghostface. This man to me, single handedly kept Wu-Tang's name alive during the turn of the new millienium. With one album he able to do that, Supreme Clientele. If u dont have that, then once again u aint hip-hop. But this tape was released in 2002. And i remember seeing features on this tape in a Source mag around that time. Not too soon after than i was able to get it, and i was blown away by it. There is plenty of gems and rarieties on here man. The one joint i couldnt stop listening to is that "Bring Da Ruckus RMX". The RZA was fool for makin that record, that joint is a certified classic! Please check this out, dont sleep on this!

J-Love- Method Man aka. Mr. Mef

Now J-Love kicks it shaolin style with Method Man. Now this features some great tracks from Mr.Tical himself when he was spittin straight lyrical darts. I never thought he would kinda fall off like he did. But he shouldnt have nothing to worry about, he has a place in hip-hop history. His work with Wu-Tang and his early solo stuff is great enough to live on forever! So lets go down memory lane with Iron Lung!!!

J-Love- Big L, In Memory Of.... Vol.2

Now J-Love goes uptown to focus on Big L. Now this is my nigga right here b. Word up. He had a chance to be even greater than he already is if he hadnt passed away. He was on the verge of getting signed to the ROC back in '99, and that would have been an awesome team at that time. Could you imagine how that would have turned out? People dont think L has that big of a catalog, well u are way wrong. Remember Big L 1st was recognized way back in '92 by Lord Finesse. So he has alot, even though he has only 2 albums. So on this tape, his work is all on display. Some of these joints i had never heard before, but they are all gems in my book! So just sit back and listen to this man flow! Who knew he would be better than Cam or Mase out of their group Children of the Corn? Mase is still my mans though.
