These guys did a whole bunch of nice records and u gotta give credit to Just Blaze & The Heatmakers for providing them with dope beats. They made hip-hop anthems that people loved everywhere!
But for me the dream started to be over actually in late '02 when Cam committed 2 sins that eventually sealed his fate for me. #1 was when he & Jim Jones started dissing Nas, even tho Nas started it (and looking back on it i dont blame him for doin it) and Nas & Jay was still goin at it. But Cam & Jim dissing Nas didnt sit well wit me but i swept it under the rug at the time. #2 was when Dame offered Cam the position to run the ROC when Jay was on vacation. Cam was gonna take it but he wanted more money plus Dame didnt run that decision by Jay to get his thoughts on it. And that to me stopped any kinda relationship between the two because the relationship they had was already kinda rocky before Cam joined the ROC. Then in '04-'05 Cam & Jim started dissing Jay on records.
By that point was I offically done wit the Diplomats as a whole and im glad i jumped ship when i did. Cam havent done anything since Come Home Wit Me, i dont listen to Jim Jones at all, and Juelz 1st LP was dope because of the beats and his 2nd LP was iight but that was back in '05 and havent heard nothin from him since.
But lets not dwell on the bad things about this group, lets remember the good times. This right here is a batch of Dipset goodies i cooked up that u can jam to and recollect ur memories on. Dont forget that they was a prominent group at one point.
